Structural Steel Connection Design

Course Outline

You will learn fundamentals of detailing, basic connection design, interpretation of structural and architectural drawings, welding symbols, preparation of anchor bolt plan, shop drawings and erection drawings. This course will also cover theoratical and basic training in most advanced detailing software.

You will learn fundamentals of connection design, welded and bolted connections, simple shear connections, axial force connections, bracing connections and moment connections and also will learn to use the many tables in AISC’s manual of steel construction. Differences between ASD and LRFD method.
